4-year-old Arabella steals hearts and show at ABN AMRO MeesPierson Beat The Pro
There she stood. Four years old, already crazy about golf. Arabella Offen from England was this year’s youngest participant in Beat The Pro. She had been looking forward to it for weeks.
Through videos on social media, Arabella shared her state of excitement with the world well in advance. She also enthusiastically showed in footage how she practised regularly at the Rochford Hundred Golf Club. In particular, she practised on strokes over just over 110 metres, the distance on the Beat The Pro hole.
Today, nerves got a bit of a grip on her anyway, but once on the tee of 11, she was endearingly eager, while caddie Dorine Daemen tried to put her at ease.
Not much later, she was high-fiving Marcel Siem, Alejandro Del Rey and Lucas Bjerregaard, the tour players she was up against. That trio hit the ball pretty close to the pin. Arabella could not match that, despite a beautiful swing with her mini-driver. Siem, Del Rey and Bjerregaard were all impressed. And Arabella, who told Ziggo reporter Tessa that she wanted to become a professional golfer and firefighter, hopped happily towards the green.
